There are a number of footpaths throughout both the villages, with some of the East Grimstead ones leading you through Bentley Wood (c.665 hectares of SSSI woodland), please see link below for more details:

There are three footpaths in West Grimstead village:
- Macks Lane to the railway bridge but this is only about one quarter of a mile
- Across the field by Tinkers Rest, over the railway line (yes that is true!) and then across two more fields and back on to the tarmac road, turning left back to the village.
- Opposite Butterfurlong Road, along the track through the woods to Farley
However, there is now the circular walk which covers No 2 above and covers both East and West Grimstead. For further information, please contact Gwyn Doran 01722 710124.
There are, however, a lot of different walks, including a circular walk, in Alderbury/Whaddon.
