Alderbury and West Grimstead School
West Grimstead’s primary school closed in 1992 and the primary school children now attend the new school in Alderbury. The school vision is “Foundations for Life – Learning, Individuals, Friendship and Environment” and it underpins everything we do. Every child is encouraged to realise their full potential. All pupils follow the national curriculum and are taught in single age group classes. The school opened on its present site in 1993, where we benefit from extensive grounds which are used for a variety of outdoor activities including sports, a Sensory Garden for quiet thought, a wild life pond, garden areas and we even have our own chickens! Our school is all inclusive, welcoming children from the local area and further afield! What Shall We Do?
The West Grimstead Village Hall, which is opposite the Church, was built in 1913 by the villagers from bricks made in our village brickfield. The hall is a very welcoming building and many activities take place there and is available for hire for parties, performances, and special occasions.
The Village Hall Committee organises drop in coffee mornings, skittles evenings, quiz evenings and celebrations of special occasions such as royal birthdays and weddings as well as other events. As mentioned below, there are regular upholstery classes, yoga classes and keep fit classes as well as an enthusiastic line dancing evening.
There is a main hall, a fully equipped kitchen, and a cloakroom/toilet area as well as a special access and toilet facilities for the disabled. For further information and to book the Village Hall, please contact Sarah Jane Pike, bookings@westgrimsteadvillagehall.co.uk or text to 07545 840868.
Upholstery Classes

Yoga Classes
Two classes are held in the West Grimstead Village Hall on Tuesdays, 4.50 – 5.50 and then 6.0 – 7.00pm. At present they are being held via Zoom. Please contact Stella Weir, Tel 01722 710582
Line Dancing
These are held on a Tuesday night in the West Grimstead Village Hall from 7.00 – 9.00 p.m.
